HSE or EH&S is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of personnel, both before, but also importantly during and after an event – including ensuring no follow-on or remaining risks are presented to staff. HSE may conduct the Root Cause Investigation, will liaise with and engage or direct local resources, and will play a vital role in ensuring continued safety and reporting during an incident.
