Designing a compliant ISO Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), or selecting and managing an external consulting firm to perform this service, can be a highly frustrating and complex process. It is important for leaders to understand how to identify, evaluate and select external vendors, as well as the optimal process for BCMS development, allowing organizations to develop a system in effective and timely manner; reducing time, effort and costs - while concurrently ensuring that ownership of the system (once developed), is in place and effective. This leadership training discusses the most effective project management approach (including the 10 simple steps to developing a BCMS), the composition of the Review Team; including filters, core and technical reviewers, approvers, owners and end users, the role of the Project Director, Guide and Project Manager and their Design Team, considerations for structuring, depth and alignment, and the need for champions and the stages of initial, intermediate and final drafts. The training looks at active and passive document types, live and static data points, unique verses replicable documents, and the importance of messaging, presentations and training. Business PHR Credits (Functional Area 1): This course supports Human Resource professionals in participating in enterprise risk management, ensuring that policies contribute to protecting the organization.
