Being able to stabilize a casualty suffering from hot or cold weather injuries will be important so as to prevent frost nip and frost bite from damaging or destroying tissue, prevent the onset of hypo or hyperthermia, or recover a casualty from hypo or hyperthermia risks. It can also stop the chance that heat exhaustion becomes heat stroke; or bring the casualties body temperature back to safe levels. Hot and cold weather conditions can occur anywhere, and can quickly present life threatening risks to those affected. Simple and effective treatment can quickly stabilize a casualty, reduce damage to the body, and support recovery – or stabilize until professional medical help can take control of the situation.
