Post traumatic stress may result from a single major traumatic incident, or an accumulation of smaller events which result in individuals being emotionally and psychologically overwhelmed. Understanding PTSD; including the signs, symptoms and response mechanisms can provide those suffering from stress with some degree of comfort and self-help measures, as well as support and empower those around them in terms of identifying stress indicators, provide help, or seek professional support for those affected.
