CMLT-8_English: LGBTQIA Arrest and Detention Incidents

In countries where LGBTQIA intolerance exists then members of the community may be targeted by government agencies, facing harassment, short or long-term imprisonment, or even a death penalty. The organization may have a responsibility to respond to an arrest and detention situation and seek appropriate treatment and legal counsel for the individual, including diplomatic intervention where the individual is an international staff member.
