CMLT-9_English: Arrest and Detention: International Staff Member

Whether an individual has committed a crime or has been targeted by corrupt law enforcement officials, the organization will often have a responsibility to respond to an arrest and detention situation of an international staff member deployed to work on behalf of the organization, and seek appropriate treatment and legal counsel for the individual. Where the rule of law is weak, and where conditions in prison present a physical or significant psychological risk, then the timely and effective response to an arrest is critical.
