CMLT-21_English: Information Loss
The loss of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or sensitive information can create a vulnerability to individuals, groups and the organization as a whole. Where external stakeholder information is compromised then the situation can expand to involve others harmed by the breach. The impact may be financial, may lead to the loss of intellectual property, can affect the privacy of individuals, and may even present security challenges. Litigation and reputational risks can also cascade from the loss of sensitive or private information.
