SDT001.5_Arabic: Module 5: Safe and secure trip planning

Road traffic accidents present the most likely form of threat organizations will face in terms of occupational health and safety incidents, resulting not only injuries for those involved in a vehicle accident, but also impacting the organization in terms of negative operational and business implications, as well as reputational and litigation risks. The Safe Driver program has 11 modules focusing on reducing risky behaviors by drivers; managing the probability and impacts associated with road traffic accidents. The program develops knowledge and skills in the areas of understanding road hazards, the development of effective cockpit drills, the ability to conduct vehicle inspections or first parade checks, the ability to conduct safe cornering and braking techniques, understanding safe distancing practices, implementing professional breakdown drills, being able to safely drive on hills and bends, and understanding the causes of aggressive driving. Uniquely, the course also addresses security threats and emergency response measures. The course exceeds international standards and is focused on countries with poor driving standards, road conditions or safety and security standards.
