SM003A_English: Hibernation, Relocation and Evacuation Management

Human-made and natural crisis situations can result in a hibernation, relocation or evacuation response. Leaders must understand how to prepare and prevent, respond, manage and then transition and recover from such events. This leadership training helps organizations define the types and stages of a hibernation (shelter in place), relocation (staged withdrawal) or evacuation (rapid withdrawal) response, exploring effective preparedness planning and emergency response protocols, and how this fits into local incident management, and concurrently, home office crisis management. The course allows managers, at all levels, to understand the warning indicators and triggers of such events, as well as the different options which may be available to them during the respond and manage, and ultimately transition and recovery stages, how these are planned for, and the triggers for implementing a staged and pre-defined response. The course looks at management actions (in terms of leadership structures, planning, resourcing and communications) for every stage of a potential hibernation, relocation and evacuation situation. This training brings together management teams into a unified and mutually support approach to business continuity management. HR PHR Credits (Functional Area 6): This course supports Human Resource professionals in developing and then testing effective business continuity policies, plans and protocols (as well as disaster and recovery plans and organizational incident and emergency response plans), and communicating and training the workforce on safety, security and crisis management standards. It demonstrates sound resiliency, empowering organizational incident and emergency response measures and associated plans – including specifically evacuation management.
