SM024_English: The Warden System and the Emergency Phone Tree
During a crisis the ability to share information in an accurate and timely manner can become disjointed and confused. This also makes it problematic to identify the location and status of individuals who may be within the affected area of a natural disaster or humanmade crisis situation. During the immediate response phase it will be critical to distribute the effort of reaching out to, or receiving information from, staff to locate them and to determine their status, as well as providing on time critical advise or instructions. The Warden System defines reporting groups and focal points to enable an expedient engagement and information system to be activated during the initial minutes and hours of a crisis response.
