YRM00A_English: Youth Risk Management Leadership Package
The Youth Risk Management Program sets out to define the unique risks that organizations face when conducting youth related activities and events, whether for minors or for young adults; and to provide the knowledge and tools by which to protect young people as a first priority, as well as the participant’s family, those adults involved within the event, and the wider interests of the organization hosting or running an activity. This program addresses the areas of business resiliency and continuity in terms of managing youth related risks; and following an incident the interests of the young people involved, their families, the involved adults, and finally the organization’s reputation and business interests. The program looks at the roles and responsibilities of Trip Team Leaders, aiding them to plan and safety run events, and then respond to an emergency incident for field trips. The program looks at the steps needed to plan for and run an event at a venue, whether on or off-site, and the core emergency response needs associated with youth related crisis situations. The program addresses the needs for established ethical standards for both adults and young people through a defined code of conduct, and provides guidelines for conducting safety and security briefings for adults and young people before an activity occurs. Global PHR Credits (Functional Area 6): This course supports Human Resource professionals in ensuring workplace health, safety and security in accordance with federal laws and regulations; including an occupational injury prevention program to address workplace safety risks. The course helps professionals develop policies, plans and procedures to direct the appropriate use of electronic media and hardware, develop, monitor and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans, develop and administer privacy policies, and develop, implement and evaluate measures to protect employees and young people from a wide range of risks.
