CI002_English: Evidence Gathering and Presentation – Investigations Management

The methodology by which to appropriately gather information during an investigation, in a manner which is compliant with ethical and regulatory standards and stipulations, is critically important. The failure to manage the evidence gathering process can undermine the investigation, make evidence inadmissible, or result in those leading the investigation breaking the law and being prosecuted themselves; regardless of the guilt of those under investigation. This course sets out the process necessary to gather and manage evidence in order to ensure a professional, legally compliant and mature process is used during a sensitive, internal investigation, mindful of the effects such investigations can have on staff morale, and the need to preserve the integrity of evidence.
