Where a transport accident occurs, which includes the spillage or release of toxic materials, whether a truck, train, vessel or aircraft, then people, facilities, resources and activities within the affected area can be impacted. Air or water contamination can cause injuries or deaths, and facilities, movement, operations and business interests can be disrupted. The response requires time-sensitive, coordinated and focused management decision-making in order to protect people and the wider interests of the organization.
