GFM003_English: Security Team Roles and Responsibilities
It is important for those security managers leading a security team, as well as those non-security professionals who are responsible for security services to understand the roles and responsibilities of the Security Management Team and Guard Force, and how they are integrated into an organizational approach, and are supportive of the wider interests of the organization’s goals and activities. These roles and responsibilities should then be articulated throughout the guard force, and to other members of staff. The Security Management Team and Guard Force acts as a business enabler, a method by which the organization, its people, stakeholders, and activities, can be safe, secure, successful and productive. As such, security should not be considered as a hindrance or burden upon an organization’s activities and operations, rather as a means by which to support and improve organizational resiliency and performance. By having clearly defined roles and responsibilities the Security Team will better understand how to work with each other, and other stakeholders, both within and external to the organization, will be able to better engage with security, and coordinate cross cutting functions more effectively.
