Sexual harassment impacts both men and women and can occur at work, as well as during travel and social activities. Sexual assault includes any contact or behavior which occurs without explicit consent of the recipient. The concept of ‘harassment’ may differ within cultures and environments, and the implications can range from embarrassment, offense, fear and physical or emotional injury. Understanding the risks and being able to avoid, reduce or effectively respond to them is critically important.
