Ethics is the foundation for effective business and appropriate behavior, however in many cultures and operating environments the differences can lead to breaches in organizational standards and practices, as well as government regulations and laws. By understanding what ethical behavior means, how and why breaches may occur, the impacts to the individual, their family and their organization, and how to react to (and report) inappropriate requests or suggestions, then individuals can reduce the occurrences of unethical behavior, or react to an approach in a manner which avoids offense, personal risk, and a breach of standards.
