S029_English: Targeted Population Security & Cultural Awareness Training

Some individuals and groups face higher than usual security risks due to their national identity, ethnicity, physical characteristics, gender, sexual orientation or gender self-identity. Some risks can be very unique, such as albinos being targeted due to superstitious beliefs relating to the magical properties of their bodies, while others may be banned from entering countries, or face harassment or be imprisoned due to their religion. Two may groups face a consistently higher level of victimization and danger: women and members of the LGBTQIA community. By understanding the risks then targeted populations can better research the unique hazards they may face, and so make knowledge led decisions regards whether an activity if worth the risk, and if it is, then by what means can risks be controlled. Where a threat does materialize the training can also offer timely and effective measures by which to react to a threat, and so ideally reduce the impacts.
