SM001_English: Developing Policies, Plans and Procedures
The design, development and ultimate implementation of document systems requires a unique blend of experience and competencies, including understanding the purpose and function of the document system under development, how it will be applied, and how it fits within a broader organizational approach. The intent of document systems is to codify and articulate organizational standards and practices, bringing a level of consistency and understanding to how organizations, activities, management teams and staff operate; while also concurrently protecting the business, operational and reputational interests of the organization against a wide range of security and safety threats, operational disruption, facility damage and asset or information loss, and legal and reputational risks. This module discussed document and document system frame-working, the different forms of documents, how they interact within a systems approach, and how they may reflect passive and active functions.
