Bullying, harassment and violence are major contributors to stress in the workplace and can undermine employee and group confidence and morale, as well as result in serious health problems. Workplace bullying and harassment, in whatever form it takes, can also have detrimental effects on the organization’s performance, business results and reputation. The Security Management Team and guard force play an active role in seeking to protect against workplace violence, and may be called upon to assist with violent persons, whether staff members, visitors or intruders.
