Suspect devices may be used as hoaxes to cause fear and alarm, and to disrupt activities. Devices may be used to harm small or large groups, cause fires, or to draw in first responders and crowds as part of a secondary attack by criminals and terrorist groups. Devices may be small, such as a soft drink can or letter, up to a car or truck sized vehicle. This mini brief is designed to quickly elevate the levels of staff knowledge and awareness on this threat area, and to provide simple and easy methods to confidentially prepare for, and effectively [self-help] respond to any emergency situation which may occur.
