Threatening phone calls may be made by individuals or groups to cause fear and alarm, including to threaten violence, or to state that explosive devices have been placed in a facility. This mini brief is designed to quickly elevate the levels of staff knowledge and awareness on this threat area [especially for receptionists and mail staff], and to provide simple and easy methods to confidentially prepare for, and effectively [self-help] respond to any threatening call which may occur.
